Heat Pump Water Heaters

Elements:

Heat pump water heater (HPWH) systems mine the energy content of air to produce hot water very efficiently. Depending on cold-water and ambient-air temperatures and on patterns of hot water use, heat pump water heaters do the same job as standard electric water heaters using three to four times less electric energy.

HPWH is a new generation hot water equipment,it successfully applies reverses carnot principle by using electric energy to drive heat pump to make actuating medium constantly accomplish the thermodynamic cycle process of evaporation(absorption of the heat energy in air )-compression-condensation-throttling-evaporation though the components in heat pump equipment-evaporator,heat pump,condenser and expansion valve to transfer the heat energe in environment into water and large amounts of free heat energy in air into domestic water.（ＨPWH Cycle)

This water heater is a kind of newly developed high-efficiency and energy-saving product. Through the process of thermo cycles, a lot of heat from the air, consuming little electricity, and the converting efficiency for electricity heat can reach 400%.

The illustration shows a typical Active Solar Heating system layout. An electronic controller constantly compares the temperature of the solar collectors with the temperature of the water in the cylinder.

Whenever the collectors are hotter than the cylinder, the controller switches on the system's circulating pump. A mixture of antifreeze and water is then circulated through the collectors and the cylinder's heat exchanger, heating the cylinder in just the same way as a central heating boiler
